Trouble sleeping? Feeling worried or anxious?

Stresses and strains of our daily life build up and can affect our nightly sleep patterns, which then can take a toll on our mood, productivity and overall wellness. Norton Healthcare employees are being offered two therapeutic mobile apps designed to help you sleep better and manage worry and anxiety to maintain better mental health and well-being.

The “Sleepio” app provides you with tools to sleep better by adjusting your behavior and offering cognitive techniques to shift your mental gears toward a good night of rest. Seventy-six percent of users are sleeping better after using Sleepio.

The “Daylight” app teaches and supports you to better manage your stress, worry and anxiety.

The two apps are designed to feel more like entertainment than medicine to help you rest and feel better.

Norton Healthcare employees can use the apps free for one year when you get started before July 15, 2020.

Monday Motivation

This week, I challenge you to make a list of a couple things you would enjoy doing this week & make it a priority to do those things.  Would a family bike ride bring you joy?  Maybe carving out 30 minutes to curl up & read a good book?  Taking 30 minutes to do a home workout on YouTube?

It can be so easy to say we don’t have time or we have to do other things instead; when in reality, a large part of “not having time” is “not making something a priority”.

You deserve to prioritize the things that bring you joy & make you feel good.  Have a wonderful week & make time for what makes you feel your best. 🙂

Inspire Others on Global Running Day!

Global Running Day, June 3, 2020 is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages everyone to get moving.  This day reminds us of the positives that running can offer and the power of unification.  Its mission seems more important than ever right now, as people everywhere attempt to stay active and healthy during a pandemic.  Many people are turning to running as a solution to help release anxiety, gain perspective, cope with cabin fever and keep up wellbeing.

Join the Run 1 Tag 1 social media challenge!  Run one mile (or complete an at-home workout) to honor a healthcare hero or someone that inspires you, then tag a friend on social media to do the same.  Be sure to include #Run1Tag1, #GlobalRunningDay and #NortonHealthcareHeroes in your social media post.

This year, Global Running Day will be digitally uniting people across the world in an effort to encourage physical wellness and strengthen community during challenging times.  As you celebrate, it’s important to exercise only when and where it’s safe to do so for both you and your community.  Please practice safe guidelines for your area.
